PICH Martin Harriague

Music… movement… movement in music, when excerpts from operas, symphonies, grand ballets, piano works depict worlds that are alternately delicate and flamboyant, enchanted and pathetic, the dancers think of themselves as musical instruments, and seek to exceed by their energy that of the score. And when the modernity of the subject takes us too far, the master’s score is extended by new electro-acoustic compositions by Martin Harriague himself.

 

Let us try not to believe in perfect beings, quickly boring. More in line with reality, the figures proposed in a nod to classical ballets – the swan, the prince, … have lost their luster and draw characters that are certainly less delicate, sometimes even vulgar but jubilant, who marry the rhythm, the colors and vitality of the score. The real hero, the enchanter, the prince of Pitch, also plagued by doubts and ridicule, is the musician himself: Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky

Through solo acts, duets, and group performances, Hagar's expressive dance artistry brought depth and meaning to the production, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
